A more comfortable patient imaging experience
When it comes to standard MRI scanners, patients have concerns:
42% of people said they were afraid of an MRI exam, according to a survey conducted by Siemens.
Of the patients who previously required an MRI, 1 in 7 people admitted to cancelling their appointment due to fear of the scanner, according to the same survey.
For nearly two million Californians with claustrophobia, the confined space of a traditional MRI can be a nightmare. More than twice that number are severely anxious about the test.
Approximately 13% of patients who have an MRI reported having a panic attack.
Introducing a new approach to combat
the anxiety of the MRI experience:
Using the widest open MRI scanner in existence, our bed modifications and special protocols enables patients to sit comfortably in a relaxed position while they undergo their test. There is no part of the machine in front of the patient’s face to make them feel claustrophobic or anxious. In addition, they are able to watch television during their examination.
Can’t stand MRI? Try sitting!

I had a seated spine MRI. The staff was very professional, kind and made me feel comfortable. I was also allowed to watch a movie during the MRI so it went by fast. A special thanks to the MRI tech Kathy for taking such great care of me while in pain.
